Davis City, Iowa
Central Decatur High School
Events: Team Roping & Calf Roping
Favorite Event & Why: Team Roping is my favorite event because this is the event I grew up watching my dad do. I knew I always wanted to be a header like my dad. I also like the challenge of being able to handle steers well for heelers of all levels.
Favorite accomplishments: A rodeo accomplishment that I am proud of is winning two saddles, a buckle, and money at the Colorado Championships USTRC roping in Colorado Springs. An accomplishment that I am proud of outside of the arena is being on the Honor Roll and receiving an Academic Letter for my grades.
Goals in rodeo: My goals in rodeo are to go to college and rodeo, get my Pro permit, and qualify for the NFR in team roping.
Hobbies outside arena: I enjoy playing basketball and helping kids younger than me learn how to rope.
Interesting fact: I like to help others, especially kids younger than me, with roping. I look forward to volunteering at school events, such as Ag Day, where I have the opportunity to demonstrate roping and teach kids something new. I am also the Student Team Roping Director for the Iowa High School Rodeo Association. The best part about this position is being able to encourage others and give advice when asked.
